Keratoconus
Dr. Plank has been evaluating and treating patients with Keratoconus for 30 years. He wrote his master thesis on the disease and spent two years at Dean A. McGee specifically treating Keratoconus patients. Recent advances in treatment of Keratoconus include cross-linking surgery to halt the advancement of Keratoconus, and INTACS for smoothing out the corneal surface. New contact lens designs have allowed improved vision quality and wear time for the Keratoconus patients as well. In addition, improved techniques for when corneal transplant surgery is indicated allows faster healing and less rejection issues when transplant becomes necessary.
